Tryouts for Junior Baseball League of Nassau teams begin in October. If you have any interest whatsoever in coaching or helping out, please, please, please contact Charles Kemp or Jeff Albury.
Having coached for 6 years myself, I can tell you that it is a commitment that needs to be taken seriously. Generally during the season, head coaches are expected to hold at least one practice during the week, with all games on Saturdays.
However, this commitment is handsomely rewarded in the progress that each kid makes throughout the season, in the look of anticipation and fun in their faces, and their excitement at having won a game.
It's worthwhile endeavor, and I encourage everyone--no matter what your level of baseball experience--to inquire how they can best help out.
The kids rely on it.
