The Junior Baseball League of Nassau (JBLN) has announced that it will expand for the 2007 season to include a 20-and-under division called the Senior Division.

The new division will be added to the list of five divisions already in play within JBLN, an 18-year-old organization that services more than 300 youth baseball players each season in the following categories:

Tee Ball 4 - 6 Years
Coach Pitch 7 – 8 Years

Little League Minor 9 - 10 Years
Little League Major 11 – 12 Years

Junior League 13 – 16 Years

The League announced that the new division was created in part to assist players who have graduated from its own Junior League, but who wish to continue to play competitive and organised baseball.

However, League officials also insisted that the Senior Division was also created to serve local high school athletes as well as young players who may have been displaced from the Senior Night League due to the demolition of the Andre Rogers Baseball complex to make way for construction of the National Stadium.

Registration in all age groups is currently underway, with a deadline for entry of September 30, 2006.

All games take place at the League's Field of Dreams Complex located in Nassau East. To download a registration form, please click here.
