JBLN Opens Season With Record Number of Players, Teams


10th January 2007

The Junior Baseball League of Nassau will kick off its 2007 Season this Saturday, January 13, 2007.


The Opening Ceremonies will commence at 10:30 AM with the traditional March In by the 320 Boys and Girls participating in the 2007 Season followed by the ceremonies and the Throwing out of the First Pitch.


The Minister of Sports, The Honourable Neville Wisdom is scheduled to attend.


The JBLN starts its 18th Season with a record number of Teams and Players.


Twenty Six Teams with 320 Boys and Girls will play Organised Baseball in the JBLN in 2007.


Tee Ball4 Teams 5 & 6 Years
Coach Pitch 5 Teams 7 & 8 Years

Minor League 4 Teams 9 & 10 Years
Major League 5 Teams 11 & 12 Years

Junior League 5 Teams 13 - 15 Years
Senior League 3 Teams 16 - 20 Years


We encourage anyone interested in baseball to come out to the Field Of Dreams on Saturday.

Bucky Dent Team Visits Nassau

A team from the Bucky Dent baseball camp in Delray Beach, Florida, visited the Junior Baseball League of Nassau this past weekend for a friendly tournament. JBLN fared well in what has become a regular visit by the Florida squad.

Hammertime Camp and Tournament

Junior Baseball League of Nassau fielded a team of players to take on Florida's Hammertime Performance team over the weekend. The tournament saw the return of former JBLN coach, Ray Catena, and the friendly contest began the journey back to regular season play for the JBLN players.


Hammertime won all three games played at the JBLN Field of Dreams Saturday and Sunday, while JBLN won both of the base running competitions held on Sunday.


Next weekend, another Florida team from the Bucky Dent Baseaball School will visit Nassau to take on another JBLN team. All are welcome to come out and watch the contest.

JBLN Registers Record Number of Players, Teams


12th October 2006

The Junior Baseball League of Nassau concluded the Draft for it’s 2007 Season on Tuesday night and will start its 2007 Season on January 13 with a record number of teams (26) and players (338).


Teams Registered for the 2007 Season include :


Tee Ball: 4 to 6 Years, 4 Teams


Coach Pitch: 7 to 8 Years, 5 Teams


Minor League: 9 to 10 Years, 4 Teams


Major League: 11 to 12 Years, 5 Teams


Junior League: 13 to 15 Years, 5 Teams


Senior League: 16 to 20 Years, 3 Teams


The League also announced that team practices would start by the last week of October and continue until the Opening of the 2007 Season on January 13, 2007.
